DO NOT EAT HERE!!! My husband and I love to dine out, and I have never felt compelled to write a negative review until now. We ate at Red Cat Kitchen last night and were incredibly disappointed. We ordered the special, halibut with crab risotto, and the tuna entrée. The halibut was so over cooked that we only ate 1/2 of the entrée. The server neglected to say the price of the special when we ordered -- $46 (!!!) -- significantly more expensive than anything else on the menu. My jaw dropped when I saw the bill. What a ridiculous scam - - fine dining prices for an establishment that is exactly the opposite. The tuna "imagined" is a chef's-choice preparation, but lukewarm coconut (?) broth with apparently leftover veg from undersold appetizers (seriously, yellow beans and raw shishito peppers with tuna?) was not what I had in mind for $39. I would've happily paid $15 for poorly-executed, mediocre, sloppy entrées at a tourist trap restaurant, but I was expecting more from this place given the glowing reviews that I read here. My friends and family will NEVER return, except perhaps to complain to management! Please save your money for the many delicious places to eat on the island (7A Foods, Back Door Donuts, Black Sheep, etc...)

As the waitress said you can close your eyes and point at the dish. They are all delicious. Four of us ordered bunch of appetizers. They were all fantastic.

Oh my dear God, what a fun find. We arrived at 6 to a line waiting to get in. We were settled into a window side two top in the porch. It was cramped for my 6'3" boyfriend but we made due thanks to a super friendly waitress, the best bread and EVOO and a chill vibe. We shared a stuffed lobster special that was insane. We are still not convinced it was worth 48.00 but it was tasty. Give it a go, it was delish.

So, I unfortunately don't agree with some of the great reviews here for Red Cat Kitchen. I was here on a Saturday night this past May for a 6:30pm reservation. To start, we were seated right next to the kitchen entrance every time a waiter walked by, the whole table shook.. We had to squeeze into our seats because the tables are so close together. The music was uncomfortably loud, it was hard to have a convo. Now, on to the food: They were already out of 3 of the main entree choices (this menu is VERY limited) so it narrowed down our choices to about 5 or 6 main courses. Again, this was an early res, so it really sucked they were already out of so many things. The brussel sprout appetizer was really delicious! ....but down hill from there : ( 2 of us got a white fish entree, that was tasty but NOT $50 tasty! The other 2 people with me didn't like what they ordered (one entree was another white fish dish and one was some short of red meat on mashed potatoes) neither one finished their dishes because they were sub par. The mashed potatoes were watery and tasted straight out of a box, NO LIE.....how can you mesh up mashed taters?!?! 1 app, 4 entrees, 2 alcoholic bevs, 1 glass o wine = approx $250 I prob wouldn't have written this review or been so critical if it wasn't soooo expensive. This food is WAY over priced for the quality (we are a group of foodies who don't mind paying the $$$ AS LONG as the food is top quality.

We went for the tasting meal and was not disappointed!! Oh, and we added in the brussel sprouts based on reading reviews. They tasted like smart food popcorn brussel sprouts! Service was friendly and attentive! Lemonade drink was ok but the mojito was yummy!

Monday night 8/31/15, 1st night in Martha's Vineyard, highly recommend by out accommodations. Honored reservation, very busy place. My scallops were o.k., just served cool. My wife's chicken was supposed to be a half a chicken. They should include a wing, breast, thigh and a leg. No dark meat, part of a breast and no leg? Some lame excuse from the kitchen that it was a de-boned thigh, really, so where's the leg. Server had 0 personality. Definitely about a 5 out of 10, very disappointed. I'm a food guy from New York, and very sensitive to the working of a restaurant, bummer.

Reservation on Saturday night for 6 of us. It is a cramped space but a fun feel. Hostess very friendly. Waitress seemed a bit flustered and was misinformed when asked about some of the dishes in regards to one of our parties concern about seafood allergies. Thankfully we questioned a different staff member and she knew the answer. The special striper dish was excellent and enjoyed by several of us.

While the food was definitely tasty, the staff was extremely inattentive. We made a reservation via OpenTable and had to wait 20 minutes past our slot to even get seated. After being seated, it then took them over 10 minutes to even take our drink order. While the food was good, it was not worth $30-45 a plate. Many better places in Oak Bluffs for dinner. Should be 4 dollar signs, not 3.

We had the meatball appetizer and brussel sprouts both excellent. The gnocchi were to die for. We also had a fish called tautog never heard of it waitress suggested so we tried it. Was also excellent Ithought the fish was way to pricey $48. On vacation who cares. Lol. I would definitely go back.

It's double what you would pay for anything else. I got the NY strip and the cod. It was about $40 each. It's worth about $20. What saved this meal was the Brussel sprouts. They are delicious. And for $8, can't beat that.

I have never done a yelp review- but this is the best food that I have ever had! We did the chef's tasting- "wild ride" and it was so great!!

I wasnt sure what to expect looking in at first but Red Cat was worth the hype! Old Grateful Dead tunes give a comfortable hip vibe and the food is top grade. The island fresca soup is deeeelicious. I also order a pork tenderloin for dinner complemented with brussel sprouts, carrots, and eggplant. The dish was five star all the way. Thank you for a great night!

I understand catching a place on an off night, but.........For what was supposed to be one of the best places on MV, I was EXTREMELY disappointed! The batter on the fried pickles fell off every single pickle, the calamari was SUPER salty (and I like salt), the wedge salad was over dressed, the tempura veggies were soggy, and to top it all of Red Cat was ridiculous/insanely expensive (and that's from somebody that lives in Chicago!!!). To top it all off our waitress was unfriendly to the point of being rude! I would avoid this place at all costs!!!!! There are too many other good places to eat on MV. The only positive were the Brussels sprouts. There were fantastic!

Came here based off a recommendation by a local that we met on a shared taxi ride and definitely glad to have taken the advice. The place is cute, fun and casual. Perfect atmosphere for a dinner on vacation! The food here is farm fresh. And you can taste the freshness. We decided to take "Ben's Imagination" which is basically the chef's tasting menu... It's $12/course for 3 courses. Whatever he has in mind for that day, he throws it together into a dish, which can change at any moment. And no, it's not their leftovers for the day. First dish was an appetizer dish with lobster salad on top of fried tomato and pureed avocadoes. Next one was a seafood corn basil broth soup. The soup was very hearty and all the tastes blended really well! (I think my favorite of his 3 dishes). Last dish was a scallop risotto. And of course, for dinner we got chocolate creme brulee... yum! Definitely some creative thinking going on here! AND I wish I could've tried the other dishes on the menu based off of seeing other people's dishes around me! Lastly, the service was great! The staff was very attentive! Almost so attentive that my plate was gone before I was done eating. lol. FYI, this restaurant is seasonal! So make sure you stop by before the summer officially ends!

My husband and I were so very disappointed!! We had 7:30 reservations for Saturday the 19th. Once seated, it took an hour and 20 minutes to actually get our food. When it arrived, my lobster and corn risotto was horrible. It was cold and the rice was severely under cooked. I sent it back and 5 minutes later, I'm given a dish that's hot, with a soupy broth and partially overcooked and under cooked rice....nothing like just throwing that thing in the microwave...for $45?!?! REALLY? My husband's fried chicken was burnt on the outside and completely flavorless. The restaurant itself is a bit trashy and without air conditioning. We're here on MV for two weeks and we are the type of people where if find a place we like, we'll go back 2, 3, 4 times...no problem. This place not only would I not go back, I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Great atmosphere and service. Friendly and casually vibe, great drinks. We did the tasting menu and had "roulette" dishes sent over per the chef's choice. All delicious and well spaced out. Definitely a local gem!

Delicious food, especially liked the brussel sprout app. Onion rings were good, though a bit salty. We ordered the pork chop and seared tuna, both were very good. No problem getting a table with a reservation. Prices are high, as to be expected. One of our best meals in OB.

A superb restaurant with great food and a funky vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight at the Red Cat. We put together a meal of the smaller plates and loved the variety of flavors. The crispy Brussels sprouts seem to be a fan favorite at the Red Cat, and they didn't disappoint -- tender inside, crispy on the outside, full of sprout flavor. The gnocchi had been changed up a bit, featuring chorizo and lobster. The gnocchi was a fluffy light perfection, in a tasty light tomato sauce. The lobster salad contrasted nicely to the fried green tomato that it topped. The fish cakes were OK, but the accompanying fried banana peppers were surprisingly awesome. So the food was great. The evening was made even more enjoyable by the funky dining room, and the very helpful wait staff.

Brussel sprouts were great. NY Strip was great. Allegedly the chef was Bruce Willis' chef - and I would believe it.

The food is only matched by the ambiance and charming, genuine staff. What a gem! Great music and a "take no prisoners" menu--their aptly named "Fckin Great Brussels Sprouts" are a must. Their fried chicken and watermelon is a revelation. The "Fresca" is summer, personified. Sweet corn & heirloom tomatoes simmered in a buttery broth of feta and basil oil. Make a reservation Friday or Saturday for the perfect evening out. *And thank you for holding a table for us when I called at 9:59pm (and for then showering us with camaraderie and delectables) !!!*

My girlfriends and I were in town for Memorial Weekends getaway, we wanted some good seafood dining with reasonable pricing. The good reviews attracted us to RED CAT. It was 8pm and the restaurant was packed and fully booked for both nights! We have to be seated nearly 10pm. As we put our name down, we went to Back Door Donut to kill some time. I have to say this restaurant is worth the wait. It was late and we had a late lunch and huge donut so we ordered minimal to try. Yet the server was still friendly and did not make a fuss about it. I had the pan seared tuna with lobster risotto, tuna tartar and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts are soooo fu*king good! Just like the description on the menu lol. I also love the pan sear tuna with risotto, it had a mix flavor yet it blend so well together. It was a nice dining experiences and if we come back visit, I'm sure we will come back visit again~

The food here was good but unfortunately, the service is subpar and with so many other restaurant options on the island, I probably would not return here. We waited for 45 minutes to be seated, WITH a reservation, and they were totally unapologetic about it. All the other parties were waiting, also, so it seems like they just overbook the restaurant in order to make sure that they don't have any empty tables. Then when they sat us, they put three of us at a tiny two person table in the corner. I also didn't find the hostess or server to be especially nice or helpful. Too bad because the food was good!

  • Jim S.

Excellent in almost every respect. Had dinner a second time there last night. Everybody in our party thought that their food was outstanding. We had the same experience the last time. Yes, the wine list needs work, the meals are expensive (welcome to Martha's Vineyard in August), the space is small (but we did not feel cramped last time or this time), and the music is loud. But we will run, not walk, to return.

Oak Bluffs is filled with restaurants that charge too much for mediocre food and service (sorry, I said it, didn't I?). Red Cat Kitchen is a tiny little restaurant with low lighting, quirky decor and good food with quality ingredients. It's one of the few places in Oak Bluffs that I would willingly go into town to eat at next time I'm on the Vineyard. Try the crispy brussels sprouts - even if you don't like brussels sprouts. I had the Black Bass which came with local corn, heirloom tomatoes, fresh peas, pistachio oil and whipped yukon gold potatoes (probably something else too but I'm forgetting!). It was so tasty I took home my leftovers and ate them for breakfast the next morning (who eats fish for breakfast? haha! me). John had the scallops which were served over risotto with a basil oil. Very good.

At first I couldn't decide what to order. The menu seemed all over the place and the atmosphere was hipster meets sophisticated dining. We tried the arrancini..was good but I wouldn't order again. The Brussels were really satisfying but the pork belly gnocchi was to die for. It was light and fluffy with an amazing texture that melted in your mouth. The sauce was buttery goodness that was bursting with pork flavor....and I really don't eat pork!

  • Merideth A.

Food was fresh, creative and tasty. The table service was terrific, and the atmosphere was overall pretty cool, although, when you're paying $44 for a piece of tuna you don't expect to be seated next to people in their swimsuits, but whatever. I will note that because the place is so small we ended up waiting 20 mins for our reserved table to be ready, but enjoyed watching JAWS at the bar nonetheless. It was my husband's favorite restaurant on the island :)

  • Letty B.

Amazing food. Had the special linguini. With chunks of of lobster, mussels and clams. Shared the "million dollar" Caesar salad, it was one of the best I've had. Service was super friendly and we got to watch Jaws in the background on mute, which was kind of cool since it featured so many spots on the island.

This was my first time on the Vineyard. Several people recommended the Red Cat for dinner. Could not have been any better. Crispy, flavorful bread with dipping oil. I ordered the crazy Cosmo and it was so light and delicious. For dinner, I had the scallops with a corn, lemon risotto and it was fantastic. The flavors were unbelievably good. My boyfriend ordered the swordfish which came over a corn succotash, it was phenomenal. We will definitely come back.

We got the 4 course tasting menu which all is served as a surprise dish. Everything was delicious, interesting, and perfectly timed. While the environment was casual, this place serves to be a great spot for groups and date nights. Just be sure to make a reservation.

I'd give more stars if there was an option. Delicious food!!!

  • Paul C.

Crowded, noisy, staff was indifferent, and at $40 average for entree, not worth it. Left after waiting half an hour for a reservation at the bar, being shoe horned in, and being told to make do..... We left and felt better for it, Adios!

Unfortunately when we went the restaurant was out of at least 50% of the menu. The bathrooms were disgusting as well. We were incredibly disappointed. Island Fresca however did not disappoint.

  • Ky P.

Well, overall it is not worth the money, however does have pros and cons. Cool design and atmosphere, great menu, two out of three ordered dishes came out truly delicious. On the other hand this place gets very noisy, the price tag is pretty steep, they were out of a few dishes on a relatively small menu plus one dish (halibut) came out dry and plain.

Loved the food, loved the atmosphere and loved the waitstaff!! I was able to have a delicious gluten free mean with the help of a very educated waitress. The artichoke appetizer is also a must!!

We stopped by on a recent Saturday night and didn't have a reservation, but the hostess offered to seat us at the bar. Ruthie took care of us and it was an all-around amazing night. We ordered tater tots, fried chicken and pork loin. Everything tasted amazing. Ruthie also made one of the most perfect cosmos ever, and a fantastic dark and stormy. And companions at the bar made for a great conversation. Red Cat is a must-visit and our first choice next time we're on the island!

We attempted to come to Red Cat for two days, the first time on a Tuesday evening the day after Labor Day, there was a 2 hour wait and the next night they were closed due to "unfortunate circumstances" - I was ready to give up on RCK but it was our last night on the island and this place was highly recommended by Yelpers and one of the permanent residents we ran into during our sightseeing so we made reservations for 9:15 on a Thursday evening. The place is teeny-tiny and has a quirky feel to it. They were blasting Rolling Stones music so it was incredibly noisy and not conducive to conversation. When we asked the server if the music could be turned down a notch, I think she actually turned it up. That was really the only downside to the evening. The food more than made up for that. We started with drinks, East Chop Lemonade and another I can't remember - very good. For appetizers we had an order of the Tempura Green Beans (good but nothing out of the ordinary) and the Gnocchi for Adelaide (with sausage and lobster - outstanding!) For main courses we tried the fish special which was a just caught Mako shark with a BBQ glaze and it included heirloom tomatoes, new potatoes and I think leeks that were creamy and cheesy....fantastic!! Our friends tried the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and they said it was very moist and delicious but I got the imperssion it wasn't as good as they expected it to be. Overall we were all happy we persevered and visited RCK during our visit to Martha's Vineyard. Along with the Aquinnah Cliffs and Menemsha sunset, it's something you don't want to miss.

I ate here Friday night for the first time. Staff was very friendly. I started with "the beet down" beet salad which was excellent, the perfect amount of feta and large fresh beets. For my entree I had the rare tuna which was served with miso fried eggplant also divine. I have been coming to Oak Bluffs for years and I think this is hands down the best option for foodies. The Seared Big-* ss Sea scallops were also excellent, huge and they give you 4. I will be returning.

The night was going well -- until the person running the house came over to tells us that there was a reservation waiting. We'd only been there 5o minutes!! We had just paid for dinner ($168 for the two of us), and my husband was still finishing his wine. The food was good. But what the heck? We got out of there, and I'm not inclined to go back.

  • Angie L.

Absolutely delicious - Halibut done up with farm share- heirloom tomatoes, onions, corn salsa and wild rice . So much flavor. For starters had the brussel sprouts and ate every last one. Highly recommend both. I sat at the bar because I didn't have a reservation ( didn't know that was needed). The bartender -Lucy was extremely accommodating by offering to text us when the folks at the bar were finished sine it's tiny and only seats 5. The restaurant is really small but has character. If you're on the vineyard you have to eat here. The food is scrumptious -fresh, farm and sea to table!

If I could write half as well as these guys could cook you would all be on a ferry to get a taste of the best meals I have ever had. We were on the island for the week of the 4th and were told this was a place I had to try. In 7 days we ate there 3 times the last time I asked if we could reserve a table for over an hour and a half as my intention was to sit down and do some damage touring as much of their food as I could. The "Bens imagination" option is the best way to go it is $12 per plate per person but it allows you to relax and let the chef make your decisions and food. My 30th birthday is in 2 months and I can easily say with ultimate certainty this is the best food I have had in my entire life. Ben and company keep up the great work you really have something special here!

A FOODIE HEAVEN! My friends and I visited this place during our stay in MV after all the incredible reviews. They all proved to be correct! Four of us started off with delicious cocktail drinks with fresh fruit and it was a wonderful start to the night. Once we were ready to order our server was really nice and informative about the menu and was able to accommodate my friend's vegetarian diet and my friends got the fried chicken and bluefish specials. When my meal came, I ordered the rosemary pork loin, it was a bit undercooked for my liking and told the server of my concern. She quickly apologized and spoke with the chef. He came out to apologize to us profusely and assured me that it would be taken off the bill. While that was a small mishap in the rather exceptional dining experience we had there, Ben, the owner, made sure we left with a smiling face. We were surprised with four desserts at the end and that topped off one of the best restaurant experiences my friends and I have ever enjoyed. Ben and Sarah do such an extraordinary job in serving their patrons and community by enriching us with their dishes and a well run establishment. Brava to you both!

Pros, and the pros are considerable enough to warrant five stars: exceptional staff, playful vibe, delicious food. We had the brussel sprouts (even though I don't love brussel sprouts), the Casear, the onion rings, the beets, the fresca, and I can't remember what-all else, and everything was excellent. Also, be aware that portions are huge, though you may not realize it from the presentation. But there were significant cons--I keep switching this review between four and five stars. Know going in that it's considerably more expensive than comparable restaurants, for no apparent reason. It's loud; all hard surfaces. And the menu is creatively written, and Jaws is looped on TV, but that kind of whimsy really depends a bit on being in the moment; it's hard to maintain that feeling without it starting to feel routine, when it is routine. Somehow going in, based on the website and on reviews I was expecting to be blown away, and I wasn't. Red Cat was as good as very good restaurants in Manhattan and around the world, which is high praise, and I would've enjoyed it more if I'd managed my expectations better to simply appreciate that.

I really really dislike starting off a review yelping about whining reviewers. It's to the point that some people in this world and on this site wouldn't know a great thing if it bit them in their largess derriere. To reduce a rating because you had to wait 15 minutes on a busy August night on Martha's Vineyard? Really? When I wait in a restaurant set up like the Red Cat I ogle ever dish coming across my path and grab a drink or two at the perfectly stylish and cozy bar of about 6 seats. I take a "bad" moment and look at the good. Ok, back to the Red Cat. It's almost impossible to go wrong with anything here... No wait, it IS impossible to go wrong with anything from here. From the White Trash Burgers (which I use as an app) to the Buttermilk Fried Chicken that was beyond finger lickin great! Anything with Beets in it, on it or drizzled is incredible at the Red Cat. A couple of glasses of red wine and endless water rounded out my night. The only problem I had with the entire experience is I finished my plate (and my wife's) and had to leave! The skinny on the restaurant is that it's small but so fitting of the style and vibe from the chef and physical structure of the building. This in my estimation is the only place the Red Cat should be and the only restaurant that will survive here for many years to come. It's perfect. It's Cozy, eclectic and the staff work their asses off. The bar drinks are amazing, the sights are fun and the food is some of the best on the island.

Last night was the first time in my life I ever expressed dissatisfaction with a dinner I'd been served at a restaurant. But when the waitress came around to ask how everything was I just couldn't say everything was fine. I'd ordered the duck, and my first indication that it wasn't good was when I had to saw off the first piece to try it. And then I had to chew chew chew it to finally swallow. Duck? It didn't even taste like it. Anyway, I could recite the whole conversation between the waitress and myself (note: loved the waitress!) but -simply- what the explanation was is that it was a specific kind of duck. (I'd never heard of it so I don't know if that meant a local variety but it's the gamey tough and chewy kind apparently.) Our waitress said she'd pass on my comments to the chef. So that was that. Much of my dinner went uneaten. I ate as much as I did because it was well after 10 and I was hungry! The check came and I paid full "market price" for my meal (which I think was $44.00) And the only recourse I have is to write a review that indicates that not every meal served at the Red Cat is fabulous.

We went there without making a reservation and immediately got seated . Our server was friendly and gave good suggestions about the menu . This place uses locally grown produce the menu is modified a bit daily depending on the produce available. Thee drinks were quick to come. The dark stormy was very good. We ordered a lobster gnocchi and a vegetarian blast to share. Everything tasted amazing.Overall had an amazing evening !!! Highly recommend this place.

After all the fabulous comments about the Red Cat we decided to try it this past Friday. As recommended, we called for reservations, got in for 9:15 pm. We were seated right away, however from that moment on, our expectation went down hill. The waitress unfriendly and rushed, also, many items in menu they were out of. Which I understand as the hour we were eating. However, the food was an insult!! Two of us ordered the lobster risotto, mind you it was $43 a plate. It came and literally you had to hunt for tiny scrapped of lobster. The dish was 99% soggy risotto with excessive amounts of strong flavored cheese that completely over powered the entire dish. A huge disappointment! Leaving most of the meal, the waitress ask if we wanted a doggie bag. Never asked if everything was ok or how did we like our meal. My advise, when at the Vineyard, listen to the locals and stay away from this over priced mediocre restaurant. Stick with places like Atria and its tavern downstairs, Alchemy, Chesca's in Edgartown or State Rd Restaurant in Tisbury. There you will receive a meal worth it's price and be treated with respect.

so we've eaten here many times since the opened two years ago. The food is consistently good with slightly below average prices for MV. That said, on our last visit two of us ordered pork and returned it was it was overcooked and hard to chew. They were very apologetic, offered us whatever we wanted, and flooded us with every dessert in the house gratis. The reluctant Caesar, the brussel spouts, the big ass scallops, and any of the seafood are consistently great. Our one reluctance to return is the volume of the music. On their voicemail, Ben says 'I know the music is loud and no I won't turn it down.' We thought he was kidding but it is loud and they won't turn it down when asked. If you're a party of two on the porch you're fine, but if a larger party and you want to be able to talk to each other go elsewhere.

Nice place, good food for the Cape and Islands. If you don't have a reservation the hostess will look at you like you have two heads and send you away. We dined on a Tuesday during shoulder season. We were told to come back after 9pm if we wanted a table (not the best first impression) and to call if we decided to go somewhere else. We agreed and had a drink at a nearby bar while we waited. When we returned, the grumpy hostess had removed us from the list though there were many open tables & we were told she would call if anything opened earlier. Tables are turned over quickly, we ordered appetizer, salad, and meal at the same time and they came within 5 minutes of each other. Not awesome. The space is very cool, it has lots of potential. Make a reservation and the food comes out of the kitchen quickly so don't order it until you want to eat it. Island fresca - fresh and nice Brussels - too heavy for spring/summer Tempura beans - good if you're looking for a crunch but nothing spectacular Caesar - different, good, give it a try Seared Ahi - sprinkled with delicious, sweet eggplant goodness. Fried chicken - if you like it fried dark you'll love it, if you like it golden fried, it's over.

I have been coming to MV for 25 years straight, and have NEVER had a more miserable experience! Intrigued by the great reviews of their fried chicken (supposedly the best ever), our family went for a Friday night dinner during our annual vacation. It could not possibly have been any worse, beginning with the waitress who exclaimed proudly that she could NOT tell us how anything was prepared BECAUSE THE CHEF "DOES SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH EACH MEAL"...that should have clued me in, but we thought okay, creativity holds sway here, so let's go with it. The fried chicken was very good as other reviewers wrote, but the Seared Tuna, ordered upon the encouragement of the waitress, was sorely disappointing...two huge slabs of the most unappetizing raw tuna (not sushi grade, that's for sure) swimming with Indistinguishable veggies. In addition, the overly doughy Gnocchi was stone cold. We summoned the server who, even though we were being overly sweet and fun-loving (we are on vacation after all), was borderline rude the entire evening; we shared our complaint, requesting something different and were told WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE MEALS WHICH WE DID NOT EAT AND WITH WHICH WE WERE VERY UNHAPPY. When she offered to "re-heat" our meals, I informed her that I would prefer nothing...I mean, who wants $38 nuked tuna??? So, I was fairly promptly served an order of fried chicken. By this time had lost my appetite but forced down about half the meal. Now get this...when we asked for the check, out came a bill for all the meals, including the two we sent back to the kitchen, accompanied by A DOGGIE BAG WITH THOSE TWO MEALS...she exclaimed, proudly again, "here is your check and your Seared Tuna and Gnocchi in a doggie bag" No, I am NOT KIDDING!!!! I tried to negotiate with the hostess, twice, but nothing doing. Next, the chef/owner came out to our table and threatened me..."YOU ARE PAYING FOR THESE MEALS, AND IF YOU DON'T, IT WILL BE THE WORST NIGHT OF YOUR LIFE"! Long story short, after getting cops involved, he "graciously" agreed to split the cost of the two unwanted meals...so, BOTTOM LINE, if you want to patronize a chef who loves intimidating you into liking his food, have at it. But if you expect to be treated like a customer, then go elsewhere!

Really a 3.75. Service, as noted elsewhere, a bit spotty. It's a new and popular spot, and relatively small so its hectic if you don't have a reservation. We knew this going in and waited at the bar, but still the host nearly forgot us and (to his credit) pulled an audible to get us seated when he said he would. About 35-40 mins. From then on, our server was pleasant but was a bit off..not sure if she was new there, or just a little mellow, or maybe stoned? As for the food, quite good. The fish dishes were elevated, and if we were to return wed go all in with those. The fried chicken, which has received many great reviews, we found average. If anything sub par and a bit overcooked. Chocolate creme brûlée may have been their best dish.

Fun place to go, if you have a reservation that is! Inventive food, the crispy brussel sprouts are must. Even if you think you don't like them. Funky atmosphere and the best cocktail menu around. The cranberry margarita is my favorite, followed by the east chop lemonade. Yummmmm

Man, this was a great meal. I try to do a bunch of foodie recon before traveling to a new location, and Martha's Vineyard was no exception. I kept seeing Red Cat Kitchen pop up, and, believe me, it did not disappoint. Located in the heart of Oaks Bluff, it's a shack of a place, fairly unassuming, but very inviting and homey. Maybe a dozen tables. First thing that stood out was the service -- everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. Cocktails are interesting, though fairly vodka-heavy in selection. But it's the food you're here for, and it - was - delicious. We started with what is possibly one of the top ten dish I've ever -- yes, ever -- had the pleasure of eating: The KAK deep-fried tomato with lobster salad was so balanced -- creamy, rich, fresh lobster salad sitting atop a perfectly fried tomato -- it just stopped me in my tracks. We also had the special tartare, bluefin likely caught this morning, adorned with cucumber, feta chives and watermelon. And the fried Brussels sprouts -- becoming more and more common these days, in LA at least -- we're done perfectly. Entrees were local dayboat scallops (firm, perfect sear) over corn risotto (rich and creamy, with just the right amount of sweet); fried chicken (ridiculously good -- and big); and the special pan-seared Wahoo over lobster risotto. I should've known better than to order Wahoo, only because I steer away from thicker cuts of fish. But it was still very, very good. All in, this was a delicious meal, sealing my fate to return to MV next summer. Given the chef's attention to detail, I'm dying to see what he does with his burger!

This place is a GEM! This was the first time we made it here and so glad we did. The atmosphere is pure OB - funky and charming. The service was also great, servers were knowledgeable while remaining low key and friendly. The cocktail list is funky and inventive, although we went right to the wines by the glass. A small list but well chosen. We started with a lobster salad over deep fried tomatoes. Creamy, crunchy, tangy, almost a reverse lobster roll flavor. Then onto the Brussels sprouts, prepared with caramelized garlic, lemon zest, olive oil, and salt...divine. Beyond divine. I was not above running my fingers along the bottom of the bowl for every last morsel. My husband had the pan roasted striped bass- I hear it was great, he was done before I could get a bite! I had the grilled Argentinian strip steak. It was perfectly cooked and even more perfectly seasoned- a char crust to dream of. Served with horseradish cream potatoes. Enough said. Yum.

Folks have hyped up the Red Cat since I've been in MV. I finally got a chance to experience what folks have been raving about this place. I have to say I was disappointed especially given their price point. If I'm gonna spent the amount that I did for an entrée it should be memorable.

Sitting at this restaurant now for the slowest dinner service... EVER! Made the reservation at 7:45 but didn't get sitted until 8:10. Waited 15 minutes at our table until the waitress came to our table. Ordered the tasting menu, we just finish our second course after 1 hour since we sat down. Still one more to go... should have order just the regular stuff... The food is good though, will only come back if I have all night to kill.

Had a fabulous dinner. Started with the tempura squash and then had the special; Striped Bass on a bed of lobster risotto and basil tomato. Very eclectic and delicious. Topped our dinner off with a fresh fruit cobbler and ice cream. Great fun, ambience and service. Taking family back again this week.

Food was good, service was lacking. Honestly, I would give this place four stars for the food and the wine list. However the service brought it down. We made a reservation for 8:30. The place was busy, so we had to wait 15 minutes. Not a big deal. We just sat at the bar, watched the tv, and eyed the food. When we were seated, we ordered a bottle of wine and a coffee. But, this restaurant does not have coffee, which to me makes no sense as its not an expensive thing to add to the menu (yes I am saying just a drip coffee, not anything special). I ran across the street to buy an energy drink, because my girlfriend was exhausted from touring all day. After getting funny looks, we ordered. I have to say, my biggest problem came when the kitchen was out of everything we tried to order. We ended up having to go with the tilapia which was a little meaty and overcooked, but the chickpea sauce was delicious. Overall, I thought the dish was good, but when we head back to MV I will not be going back because of the service.

I was so excited to try the Red Cat Kitchen after reading about chef Ben deForest and the ever changing seasonal menu. The place has a cool, casual vibe to it. There's a fabulous menu of custom cocktails and we took full advantage of that. Our appetizers were the highlight of the meal. A crispy fried calamari that included fried spicy peppers with a tasty aioli was great but the fresh house made gnocchi app was sublime. I even stopped by the kitchen window to complement the chef on this dish. Our entrees were good but did not live up to the level of the apps. I had fried chicken which was pedestrian. It was just missing something, a sauce maybe. My hubby had the duck which was tasty but also not as fab as the first course. Service was great and I look forward to going back next time we visit MV.

Love this place. After eating all over the island, the Red Cat gets my nod for the best restaurant in the Vineyard. Striped Bass Tempura - The Bass and the sauce were incredible, but the cheddar polenta (?) under did not compliment it well. Tuna Toro - Tremendous flavor, perfect presentation, sublime sauce. Great bartender. Good luck with those winter skill-building projects!

Amazing food and drinks. I tried the fried chicken and my boyfriend the gnocchi special, both very very good. Sidecar drink was perfect, and a cucumber drink (can't remember the name) was refreshing! Homemade strawberry shortcake topped it off deliciously! Highly recommend!

The Red Cat Kitchen is absolutely fabulous. With 7 girls visiting the Island in search of fine dining without a nose too high up in the air, on both food and atmosphere it's hard to beat that of this funky restaurant and its passionate ma 'n pa soon-to-be-newlywed owners Ben and Sarah. I had come to the Island pretty amped about getting a seafood dish, so was pleased when my friends kindly shared their incredible fried tomato and lobster salad app. I, however, could not resist the siren song of "Ben's Vegetarian Showdown," which had the opportunity to be many different things, but was up to the chef to send out. Normally this comes with 4 dishes, but I think the couple were feeling extremely generous that evening and sent out 6 different entree options to the delight of my friend and I who had opted for the veg-friendly adventure. The polenta and the tempura veggies were solid and filling, the salad crisp and perfectly dressed - a nice touch with some of the heartier dishes. It was the other 3 portions, however, that truly caught my attention. The sweet corn risotto was uniquely textured and the perfect blend of sweet/savory. The gnocchi were pillowy in their divine sage-butter sauce. But friends, you have not lived the fullest life possible if you have not yet consumed their Island Fresca corn/basil/tomato/cheese/angel wing clear-brothed soup. That soup was positively profound, and if I could have a bowl every night of my life I'm not sure I would ever get sick of it. My friends had similar love for their fried chicken, truly "huge-ass" scallops, and tempura'd black bass. My friends and I figured out who the heavily-tatted "pa" was cooking for us since we were seated right near the kitchen, and when things quieted down later into the evening the "ma," Sarah, sat with us for a bit and chatted with us about her experience in the restaurant industry, the stories behind the restaurant's art, and their upcoming wedding. This is a couple that doesn't do things half-assed. They bought the restaurant 9 days before opening day at the beginning of the summer and it's already turning heads. They decided at the end of August to set their wedding date for the end of September - she ordered her black cotton wedding dress off etsy on her iphone 2 weeks ago (she showed us a picture, and it is fabulous)! They are an imaginative but grounded, industrious couple, and their restaurant and food are bursting with heart - this is a must-visit restaurant if you're making your way to the Vineyard! Tell Sarah and Ben I say hi :)

Went there for the first time on a pretty busy week. We made reservations before we came. When we arrived we still ended up waiting about 15 min before we were seated. That really bothered me. There is no AC in this place and no open windows so beware on a hot August night to be sweating a bit. Other than those 2 things, I had a pretty enjoyable dinner. The service was a bit weird. I believe we had 3 different servers all night which I think led to some confusion between them. They were not sure if they brought out our appetizer or not. Also, at the end of the night I ended up getting a free drink for some strange reason. I believe it was a wait staff mistake. The place is not that big so I am not sure why one waiter would not suffice. The food was excellent though. The chef seems to be very vague on the menu so you get surprised when you get your meal. I ordered the Cod and it was very flavorful and fresh with lots of in season vegetables. The tomatoes stems were left on which was not so nice but besides that it was very good! My fiance got the fried chicken which is also very good. Try the mojitos here! soooo good.

Ben and team have done an amazing thing here. The ambiance is cool and collected, the bar is inviting, the staff is very friendly and helpful. And of course - the menu is phenomenal. We sat at the bar before we were seated; the bartender was awesome and gave us a good recommendation. We ordered the huckleberry crush and the basil gimlet. Both were good but the win goes to the gimlet. We were seated for dinner in the cozy dining room and quickly decided that we wanted everything on the menu. So, rather than go with entrees we went with 6 different starters and small plates. We asked our waitress to make three courses out of our selections in the order that the kitchen recommended. We started with steak tartar. The flavor was so fresh and was just what we wanted a hot night. Next was the fried tomato with lobster salad and the 'not to miss' brussel sprouts. The kitchen does not call them 'not to miss' - I do. get them and you will be happy. Finally we enjoyed the island fresca and fish cakes. This course we did not finish but only because we were full and happy from the rest. Five stars because this is as good as it gets down-island against all the competing restaurants. Make a reservation and prepare yourself for an island experience. We cannot wait to return.

Just an awesome meal. My wife and I did the 3 course tasting menu. $10 per plate so it ended up being $30 each ( not counting drinks). Just a Great value and such fresh ingredients. Great dinner for our first trip to Martha's Vineyard!

From start to finish, this was the absolute best meal I had in the Vineyard, and probably thus far in 2013. I'm so glad I did some research and made a reservation here because it was jammed on Saturday night. There was a long wait for walk-ins, but my boyfriend and I were seated almost immediately for our 8pm reservation. We had a cozy table on the porch and service was friendly, but not overbearing. To start, we had the tempura green beans with a sweet chili dipping sauce. They were so simply prepared, but I could have eaten tons of them. The green beans were really fresh and almost meaty like edamame. My boyfriend had the lobster salad served on top of a fried green tomato, which he enjoyed, especially the spicy peanut-like sauce that was the base. For entrees, he had the "big-ass sea scallops" served on a bed of sweet corn risotto and drizzled with basil oil. Wow. That risotto was out of this world good. I snuck several bites! I ordered the seared yellowfin tuna steak served with crispy eggplant, wilted spinach, and wasabi. It was hands-down the best preparation of yellowfin I've ever had. There was a nice salty-herb crust on the seared tuna, which is usually hard to achieve without overcooking the fish, but it was phenomenal. The eggplant and spinach had a delicious miso glaze and the spicy wasabi cut through the sweetness perfectly. The preparation of the dish was incredibly simple, but so complex in its flavors. I am definitely going to try and recreate it at home. We passed on desserts here and opted for Back Door Donuts instead, but the strawberry shortcake sounded good! Make a reservation and come here for a special occasion or date night while you're on the Vineyard. Chef Ben DeForest is doing justice to the local seafood and produce the island has to offer. Red Cat Kitchen is a true 5 star joint nestled in Oak Bluffs.

I visited the Red Cat on its opening night in April, 2013. I went back the next night. The first night was good. The second night was great. The décor is eclectic. It looks like they collected cool pictures, interesting decorations and raided furniture from my dead aunt's kitchen. It's odd, but it works. I had the lobster salad appetizer. It came with a crispy fried green tomato topped with lobster salad. At first glance, I thought the chef might have lost his marbles. Hot fried green tomato topped with cold lobster salad? Really? Hot crap, it was good. I had scallops for a main course. They were amazing. I had crème brulee for dessert. Crème brullee is like roasted chicken - average is easy, bad is pretty hard to do, greatness is rare and wonderful. The chef nailed it. I loved the Red Cat. But be warned - this restaurant is not for everyone. If you want a precise description of how foods are prepared or if you order like Sally from When Harry Met Sally, you won't like Red Cat. If you're willing to give the chef space to work his magic, you'll be delighted. I live in Seattle. I'm not sure I'll make it back to Red Cat this lifetime. But I certainly will try.

The food was very very good, my friend who is a vegetarian was ecstatic with the number of options she had to order from. While the space is a little small and crowded, especially for a Monday night, In general the service was fine. My only real complaint is that even with a reservation (we showed up five minutes early and they were not happy, oops) it took almost half an hour to get our table.

I had one of the best meals of my life at Red Cat this time last year. Unfortunately we had to walk out this time. After making a reservation a week in advance, I was excited to show my parents my favorite restaurant on the island (I work here May to October). We arrived early and after an awkward hostess / manager conversation that made us feel bad for coming prior to our booking, we were sat. We already knew that we wanted the tasting menu since I've been dreaming about our dinner for weeks. After notifying our sever that I am celiac she told us that the chef is no longer offering tasting that are gluten free. Their menu clearly states at the bottom to notify your server of any allergies or preferences. Last year was no problem and a huge reason to come back. Our server said she would check on how the chef's "mood" was. She never returned. The manager came over and said he would "agree" to making a gluten free tasting - but when we asked that the first course not be raw (a preference of my parents) he refused. We decided to leave and go up to Offshore Ale which is always a guaranteed good meal. I'm sad for the server who missed out on a good tip and sad for the chef for having a chip on his shoulder. If you have food sensitivities, spend your money elsewhere. There's tons of competition in OB.

I have the privilege of living on the island of Martha's Vineyard, famous for some of the best restaurant in Massachusetts. My friend raved about the chicken all day as we made plans to dine at the Red Cat. We were seated right away. Ordered drinks and my friend had the Cesar salad with anchovies and I really enjoyed the bay scallops. I recommend the lemon drops excellent blend of vodka and lemon. I ordered the steak with sliced new potatoes, asparagus and a really nice sauce. My friend ordered the buttermilk chicken served with the same potatoes and green beans. Since the menu clearly states no substitution we knew we would trade our veggie not a problem. Our order came in a timely fashion. AND here is where the problem starts. my dinner was perfect;however,my friends chicken was awful not golden and juicy like fried chicken should be, but dark brown and not tasty at all. We called the server over who was excellent and asked to return the dish. The chef came out with the same chicken and addressing me he started to explain that there was nothing wrong with the chicken. I pointed out that I had not ordered the chicken obviously my steak was in front of me (I'm really not trying to take this as racism)He finally got the point an addressed his comments to my dinner companion. He put the plate down in front of her and said I have been serving this chicken all summer this way. To that I say I hope not. My friend returned the chicken and I felt after seeing the look of disappointment on her face he should have recommend another entree. So how could I enjoy my dinner when my friend who REALLY wanted to dine (I wanted French food) here was sad.We ordered pumpkin spice cream bruelle which was awesome an I had another lemon drop! We are local taxi drivers and look foward to the fall to try out new resturants. We also consider these dining experiences for ourselves. We also know when fried chicken is not right I mean really how hard is it? I would not say not to go here my dinner was excellent. We will not go back because as I said we have many restaurants on the island left to try. This is my first yelp review. In ths economy bad dining experiences are no longer acceptable.

Hit this place in the late summer but didn't write it up. Small little place with a almost Caribbean like atmosphere. We were there in the still busy season and called ahead to get a table. Still what looked like a long wait however two stools at the bar opened which is two thirds of the stools available. Bar tender was a fun guy and carried on a fun conversation. The food was all solid, not incredible but what we were expecting. The chef takes some chances with creating dishes that vary on the fly a bit. I feel like most dishes delivered however there was a little bit of repetition between a few of them with veggies and fruit that must have been well stocked. If you want a solid dinner that is pretty creative and delivers good quality put this on your list. If you are a foodie I think you will appreciate the effort and thought that go into the dishes, if your just hungry it will fit the bill as well. Little pricey but I didn't feel cheated or as if I spent too much for what i had. Bar tender made it a fun evening and by sitting at the bar you can cut your wait... need a little luck and will need to hawk the seats a bit.

We had an unforgettable night at the Red Cat, from the delicious apps to the divine scallops & risotto! The servers were friendly and fun and the chef came out a few times to check on our meals and say hello. Two in our party chose "Chef's Choice" for the fish and they raved about their meals. FRESH ingredients, easy, casual atmosphere and great service. We'll definitely be back.

This is a fun, relaxed place to have delicious food, healthy and locally sourced, creatively prepared, relieved of pretentiousness in decor and presentation. The "fresca" vegetable stew of sorts, was new to us and completely scrumptious. Fresh, perfectly (as in, lightly) grilled bonito, real fried (island) chicken with parsnips in the creamed potatoes, complemented with very nice glasses of Pinot Grigio and Cabernet. We managed to split a yummy malt chocolate creme brulee.

We had a wonderful dinner. Best beet salad ever followed for one of us by scallops & corn risotto. The other of us had the "Vegetarian Showdown," 5 portions of different vegetarian dishes. (Why don't all restaurants offer a similar dish?). The menu had several good choices for vegetarians and many for omnivores and the wait staff made it clear that dishes could be adjusted for any dietary restrictions. Like most restaurants, it's too noisy for our taste. The decor is funky and interesting. Seems fine for kids and there was a party of 12 among the tables for 2 & 4. The service was excellent. Very fine dining ... Oak Bluffs style. p.s. Only regret was we didn't have room for dinner.

We had dinner at the Red Cat twice during our weeklong stay in Martha's Vineyard, with mixed results. The first night I had a fantastic scallop dish with corn risotto - perfection! - and my partner (a vegetarian) had the "vegetarian showdown," which is five different veggie sides of the chef's choice. Several of the veggie dishes were outstanding (including some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted!) and the rest were good. But the second night the food was not as good. I had a fluke dish that featured a really skimpy piece of fish that was pretty flavorless, and my dining companion wasn't as happy with the veggie showdown on the second night. Although the tempura green beans were great, everything else was just blah. The service can be spotty, the vibe and decor is very low-key and eclectic, which we like. I'd give the first night 4 stars but the second night just 2.5 stars.

This was the best meal that I had on the island when i was there. Although, nearly everything I ate on the island was good, I felt that this place embraced the inventiveness that I am used to in the Bay Area but highlighting the delicacies of the Vineyard. We ordered the Cranberry Margaritas for our drinks. I liked the tartness that the cranberries brought to the table. Very good, but did not make my eyes roll back in my head. Needed salt. Lobster salad on fried tomato - amazing. tomato was so crispy and delicious. Avocado puree and lobster salad added moisture and flavor. The curry oil brought it all together Brussels Sprouts - Crispy, delicious goodness. Some of the best I have had. Fried chicken with ham jam and corn and waffle pudding - wasn't really seeing what was waffl-y about it, but it tasted great with the chicken. Fried chicken was also delicious. Cod with squid - On top of potatoes. There was also some corn salad soup thing. The cod was delicious. Perfectly cooked and flaky and moist. The little squids on top were nice and crispy and added a nice textural contrast. There was a lot going on in this dish and I wanted to not like it, but it all worked somehow. Onion rings - Perfect. They were like a better version of the "onion loaf" type of onion rings. Service was excellent. Waitresses were attentive and upbeat. Place was hip, which was something I was missing during my time on the island.

I don't know of many foodie options on the Vineyard. Red Cat goes well beyond the troves of clam bars and lobster rolls. We dined from the 57th menu of the year with surf and shire delights enough to please anyone who enjoys creative presentations of the freshest food.

Adorable little house serving tasty (but really pricey!) food. This was easily our most expensive meal on the Vineyard (with only 1 beer each), and I'm not entirely sure it was worth it? To start, our table of 4 shared the tempura beans (tasty) and the crispy brussle sprouts (lick-the-plate delicious). My $32 pork chop with onions, asparagus, and pistachio jus was large, well-seasoned, and quite good (I wish it had been cooked a tiny bit less, but the end result was still juicy). The boy's $28 fried chicken with potato salad and watermelon was some of the most flavorful and moist fried chicken I've had. The parents got the $40-something dollar special, a choice of 3 types of freshly-caught fish over risotto and lobster salad, which they were really happy with. All of us left the table full and satisfied with our food and the experience, but the check really put a dent in our wallet, and I felt like I've been just as happy with other dinners that have cost a lot less. Maybe the $ ain't no thang to all the elite wealthy Edgartown-types who summer on the Vineyard, in which case they probably leave really happy and eat here regularly, but for us workin' class folks, it's best to save this place for a special occasion, or when a rich friend is footing the bill.

I understand that one's experience of dining out at a restaurant can var from day to day, but this place is way overrated. Last night, my girlfriend and I went for dinner at the red cat. This was our first time, and from word of the mouth we had high expectations from the place. Unfortunately things went south very quickly. We were told that their famous Brussels sprouts are 86 for the day, nor my girlfriend could order tuna tartare as (according to our waitress) they were not on the menu for the day. We still managed to find food we'd prefer to try and put our order in. I wish I had known that this would be the last time I'd see our waiter again, until she eventually drops of our main course, so that I could ask for salt and what not in advance or make remarks about food I have not received yet to satisfy the customary exchange "how's your food?", "everything is great..." you come to expect from pretty much any half@ss restaurant but McDonalds. Our drinks didn't come out until after we got our appetizers, which we got after the table that sat after us and somehow ended up getting tuna tartare, which we were told was "not being served" that day. Either ways, our appetizers were delicious tho, and that's the only reason review is 2* not 1. After we finished the apps and waited another 5-10 minutes we were approached by a woman who turned out to be our waitress whose face I had forgotten for not seeing her for half hour after being sat. She cleared the table and delivered our Salmons. They were "ok", not "great" just "ok". Eventually, we finished our main course and asked for our bill. On it, the salmons were marked up to $36 from the menu price of $29 and luckily I noticed it and had it fixed. We paid our tab and left. Now, both my girlfriend and I have worked in food industry and much of the things listed here we can understand. Maybe waiter didn't know the menu and 86's for the day well, maybe she was busy and didn't have time to baby sit us (even though a simple check in after each course was dropped to see how we were doing would be appreciated), and maybe the paper menu had not been updated with new price or the computer may have had a wrong price due to human error. But the thing that forced me to write this review is all the vomiting and diarrhea that has kept me up since last night due to food poisoning I got from this place. So beware, not only the top dollars you will pay here won't get you a great service, but also the food you get might be less than mediocre as well. After we ordered our dinners, I was suggesting to my girlfriend that maybe we should come back once and do the tasting menu ($12 a plate or sth), but after this experience I won't eat there at gun point. Hope that anyone who reads this has a different experience if they choose to go there.

Probably the best restaurant on the island. They do really interesting things with local produce and fish. Their onion rings should not be missed and you definitely want the "Island Fresca" a Parmesan soup with island corn, tomatoes, and basil. One great dish includes the Fresca over mashed potatoes, chorizo and local blue fish. I had the "Vegetable Showdown: Come and get me Motherfu$&"&er" last time. All the food was interesting, although there were a few missteps. Included delicious steamed carrots, spicy fried banana peppers, great corn risotto, and two misses: a salad with smoked tomatoes (tasted more like kerosene than bacon) and a slightly mushy street corn on the cob. Also, I'm not sure that two of the five needed sriracha sauce. Still the best nonetheless.

Best meal we've ever had on the Vineyard (and we've been coming here several times a year since 2007). Portion sizes are good for the price (in addition to the entrees, we split an app and had a glass of wine each - $129 before tip). My seared scallops were like buttah, and the corn risotto and sauce they were served with were a wonderful complement; his veal was perfectly done. We both enjoyed the calamari with spicy sriracha sauce. Almost forgot - the bread had a homemade potato chip baked into the crust. I'm assuming it was also made with potato flour, as it was very moist and dense, in addition to being quite tasty. Environment is decidedly casual and the place was a bit loud; service was attentive without being obnoxious. The menu is not that expansive (things like the risotto appear in multiple dishes), but what they send out of the kitchen is done very, very well. This is one place I hope will still be around the next time we're back on MV.

Best meal in mv! The Brussels are out of this world divine. Must must must. The tuna tartare was also outstanding. This place gets 5 stars even though the scallop entree was only ok because everything else was so good. The bread was amazing. The cocktails were so good we came back the next night. Next time I would get the fried chicken--it looked amazing.

Hot damn. We wouldn't have known of this place if not for yelp. Got reservations for bar seats which were ready right on time. Jaws playing on a loop was cool. Great bartender. Gredt drinks. Sazerac and a martini. Fng great Brussels sprouts? Ok. Yummy but could be more crisp. Wahoo special with crab risotto and heirloom tomatoes. Too much fish in a good way. Lunch tomorrow! The wahoo was great. Bluefish was also amazing. Grest non fishy fish. Pricy. Funky small. Great.
